Hello, I want to sell all my Penang coin collections. Penang,originally is a part of the Malay sultanate of Kedah,was given to the British Vnited1 East India Company(VEIC). On 11th August 1786, Captain Francis Light, landed in Penang and renamed it Prince of Wales Island in honour of the heir to the British throne, on the eve of the His-Majesty birthday. The settlements was named George Town after King George 111 of Great Britain. The first coinage was struck on 1786 for this island.
1) Penang- 1 Cent Uniface Copper (1786). Mintage is unknown, weight-15g, diameter-28.6mm, edge is plain. This is the first coin struck for PENANG and it's an undated Uniface copper 1 cent with the Balemark of the British United East India Company on the obverse. This coin was struck between March and May 1786 by the Calcutta Mint, Bengal, India.
2) Penang- 1 Cent Copper (1828). Mintage is 235,800, weight-8.94-9.07g, diameter-28mm, edge is plain. This is a VEIC coinage, struck by Madras Mint, India, bore the year 1828 and the Coat-of-Arms on the obverse. It has the lily cups wreath with Arabic inscription "Pulau Pinang" (Island of Penang) on the reverse for 1 cent.
3) Penang- 1/2 Cent Copper (1810). Mintage is 1,720,320, weight-4.66g, diameter-24.5mm,edge is plain. This is a VEIC coinage, struck by Royal Mint, London, bore the year 1810 and the Coat-of-Arms on the obverse. It has the lily cups wreath with Arabic inscription "Pulau Pinang" (Island of Penang) on the reverse.
